Occasionally you need to upgrade the MoveData app and its extensions to access new features, bug fixes, or functionality improvements. This guide covers the upgrade process for both the core MoveData app and any installed extensions.

Before you begin#

• You must be a Salesforce administrator or have permission to install packages.
• The MoveData app may have dependencies on MoveData extensions and vice versa. You may need to upgrade one before you can upgrade the other.

Upgrading MoveData extensions#

1. Open the MoveData app and go to Settings.
2. Click the Extension tab.
3. Find the extension you want to upgrade and click Update.
4. Choose whether to install for All Users or Admins Only.
5. Accept the terms and conditions, then click Upgrade.
6. Wait for the installation to complete.

Repeat this process for each extension that has an available update.

Upgrading the MoveData app#

1. Open the MoveData upgrade link: https://api.movedata.io/installer/app.
2. Choose whether to install for All Users or Admins Only.
3. Click Upgrade.
4. Wait for the installation to complete. This may take a couple of minutes.
5. To confirm the upgrade, open Setup > Installed Packages and check the version number next to MoveData App.

Complex upgrades#

Some upgrades require additional steps if you are upgrading from an older version. This applies if your current version pre-dates:

• MoveData App: v1.167
• NPSP Fundraising & Donations Extension: v1.81
