The Developer plan gives you the MoveData app on Salesforce AppExchange so you can build and run your integration yourself. It's for organisations with strong in-house Salesforce skills (Flows, and Apex where needed) — or access to a Salesforce developer or partner — who'd rather build the integration logic themselves than have MoveData build and maintain it.

If you'd prefer MoveData to set everything up, support it, and keep it up to date for you, choose a Single Integration or Multiple Integrations plan instead — those include our pre-built extensions, professional setup, support, and ongoing upgrades.

Developer vs the managed plans#

On the Developer plan you get the app and integrations, and build the mapping logic yourself. On the managed plans, MoveData supplies that logic as pre-built extensions and looks after setup, support and upgrades for you.

How it fits together#

It helps to understand the two layers (see How MoveData works and the Architecture overview):

• The app is the engine. It connects to your fundraising platform(s), receives notifications, and exposes incoming data in a consistent schema.
• The mapping logic decides how that incoming data becomes records in your Salesforce — which objects, which fields, how to match existing records. On the managed plans this is delivered by MoveData's extensions; on the Developer plan, you build this layer yourself.

The app itself is a managed package and updates automatically; on the Developer plan, the mapping logic you build is yours to maintain. The app gives you the data and the framework; you supply the rules that write it into Salesforce the way your org needs.

Setting up#

1. Install the app from AppExchange and assign permission sets — see Installing MoveData and Permission sets.
2. Run the setup wizard — Running the setup wizard.
3. Connect your integration so notifications start flowing — Connecting your first integration. Confirm data is arriving under Notifications.
4. Build your mapping logic. This is the part the extensions would otherwise handle. On the Developer plan you build your own handler: the MoveData pipeline passes each incoming notification to the Lightning Flow(s) you provide, which create and update your Salesforce records — the same point at which MoveData's extensions would otherwise plug in. You build these flows yourself, working from the incoming schema.

Support#

The Developer plan is self-serve. Support is provided through this knowledge base and product documentation — including the schema and flow references, the customisation guides, and the troubleshooting library. Hands-on, ticketed support is not included on this plan.

Moving to a managed plan#

If you install a MoveData Extension into your org, your subscription moves to the corresponding plan (Single Integration or Multiple Integrations, based on the number of integrations connected) at that plan's price — you'll get our pre-built mapping logic, support and ongoing upgrades. Billing#

The Developer plan is billed at $49/month (local-currency equivalents below). After you install the app from AppExchange, our team will be in touch to set up your billing: you'll complete a short form, and we'll issue your first invoice at the end of your free trial.
