Enable or Disable the JustGiving Notification Date Filter
The notification date filter controls how far back MoveData looks when processing JustGiving data. JustGiving's API frequently sends notifications for events that concluded months or years ago, so without a date filter MoveData processes all of this historical data into Salesforce.
Steps#
Step 1: Open your JustGiving integration#
In Salesforce, open the MoveData app and click the Integrations tab. Then open your JustGiving integration.
Step 2: Enter edit mode#
Click Edit to modify the integration settings.
Step 3: Set the notification date filter#
Scroll to the Notification Date Filter field and select a date.
MoveData will not process any notifications related to events, fundraising pages, or donations that occurred before this date.
Success
Before setting the filter, make sure you have a clear understanding of the earliest date from which you want JustGiving data in Salesforce.
Step 4: Save#
Click Save to apply the change.
The filter takes effect on the next polling cycle. Any notifications already processed into Salesforce are not affected.
Verify It Worked#
After the next polling cycle completes:
- Open the Notifications tab in MoveData.
- Check that notifications with dates earlier than your filter date appear with a status of Skipped. This confirms the notification date filter is working correctly.
- If you see historical notifications that have been processed rather than skipped, verify the date you entered and ensure the integration was saved correctly.
Troubleshooting#
Filter not taking effect immediately
The filter applies on the next polling cycle after you save the change. JustGiving integrations poll every 12 hours by default. Check back after the next polling cycle to confirm the filter is working.
